What is the one-move tactics?
A one-move puzzle is solved by a single move: the fork, the mate, the winning capture is right there. There is no follow-up to calculate — only the pattern to recognise.
Why the one-move tactics matters
One-movers are the gym for pattern recognition. Doing lots of them fast trains your eye to see tactics instantly, which is exactly the skill that stops you from blundering and helps you pounce in blitz.
How to use it to win
Scan for checks, captures and threats and pick the one that wins on the spot. Speed is the point — the more one-move shapes you have seen, the faster they jump out at you.
